The Artist ~ Dawn Brooks

Dawn in an established Artist from Wormit in North East Fife. She began painting in 2000, reviving a lifelong passion that had been buried away since she was a teenager in the 70’s. Self-taught, she has a prodigious portfolio of works in oil, acrylic and pastel and a creative natural ability to express with sculpture, jewellery design, photography, storyboard realisation and even animation. With a particular flair for portaiture, her work has been displayed in the National Portrait Gallery in Edinburgh. Recognised for her bright dramatic landscape paintings, as a keen photographer she captures the amazing sunsets over the River Tay and recreates their full glory onto the canvas.
Dawn is currently stretching her talent via painting or producing completely new and original ranges of traditional and abstract works. These currently range from imaginative colourful compositions, born from experimenting and stretching boundaries of working with Acrylic, to the constant artistic and technical challenges presented by illustration, caricatures, design, painting in oil and dabbling with animation.
